Featherstitch started a few years ago when Heather Bethune decided to put her mom's sewing machine to good use making gifts for friends and family. Because these items where inspired by the recipients and the fabric being used, each piece of clothing, accessory or baby item was completely one of a kind.

Today, Featherstitch is kind of like on overflow of those completely unique, one-of-a-kind gifts in that all of our products come in supplies of one. We also love to use recycled fabrics & clothing found at vintage shops or the thrift store table-cloth rack, give them a good washing, and create something completely new -- like an urbanish woman's vest made from a boring man's tank top. Basically, we bring inspiration and fresh perspective to every piece, whether a necklace made of soft, worn in linen or a bag just perfect for trips to the beach because it was made from a curtain that once hung in the bright light of a child's bedroom, sunning itself daily. : )
